Mission Report from Africa

Below I have posted the most recent report from George Funk, a missionary we support who follows up on WBS prospects all over the African continent.  This month’s report contains some important information, so read carefully. There have been 41 baptisms this month and we are building up momentum as we head north into Africa. 

 CHANGE OF OVERSEEING CONGREGATION.

 This is a sad day. After 15 years with the Lamar Church of Christ, we have been informed that their eldership will be dissolving. Al Neuhold has been ill for some time now and Bob Williams will be moving to be near his daughter in Atlanta. That leaves Ron the only elder left. He will step down when Bob Williams leaves later this month. To the Lamar elders and congregation who helped us 15 years ago, when so many congregations turned us down, we want to say BIG THANK YOU. We want you to know that when I arrived on a greyhound bus with no work, but just a dream of what we wanted to do, you gave us the opportunity. Today we leave you with one of the most successful evangelistic works in the brotherhood. We want you to know we are not leaving on a greyhound, we are leaving with Chariots, Offices and a team that will reach millions in years to come, Lord willing.  As I write this I have tears in my eyes. We will forever be eternally grateful.

 NEW OVERSEEING CONGREGATION.

 Our new overseeing congregation from May the 1st is the Northside Church of Christ in Benton, Arkansas. They are situated south of Little Rock on interstate 30. This was our first choice, reason being: We want a congregation who visits and works with us. No congregation visits our work as much as the Northside congregation. They are a sound congregation with a wonderful eldership. I believe these men will help GCM move forward to the next level. This work is poised for even GREATER THINGS. Thank you Northside for accepting this African Dream.
